About Grapevine, TX
Rated as one of the best places to live in America by CNN Money, Grapevine, TX is known for both its gorgeous properties and its unique history. Grapevine, TX’s history spans back to 1843 when it was initially developed under a peaceful treaty between the Texas Commissioners and the leaders of ten Native American nations. The city quickly grew throughout the American Civil War and was used for cotton farming and cantaloupe farming throughout its history. In fact, Grapevine was once known as the Cantaloupe Capital of the World. Grapevine, TX has even been featured in many television shows, documentaries, and movies, including one regarding Bonnie and Clyde. Whether you want your garage door to reflect the rustic history of Grapevine, TX, or you’re looking for something more contemporary and modern, Action Garage Door has a wealth of garage door styles to suit your family’s home.
Grapevine has capitalized on its name and its history and is a popular tourist destination as well as a great place to live. Located primarily in Tarrant County, portions of the city extend into Dallas and Denton Counties, and the city is considered equally convenient to both Dallas and Fort Worth. It is an affluent suburb, with housing stock that is relatively new. There is a mix that includes larger homes on acreage, mid-range family homes in gated and golf course communities, condominium developments, townhouses and modern apartment complexes with abundant amenities.
Median home price is $322,400, up more than 7% from the past year, and prices are expected to rise another 3.8% in the coming year.
Newer highways allow reasonable commutes in all directions, making it possible for Grapevine residents to also work in Irving’s Las Colinas business district, Plano or Arlington with relative ease. A substantial part of the city’s land area is occupied by DFW International Airport, and it is a popular suburb for pilots, airline attendants, and other flight-related employees.
Part of the city’s appeal is its still-rural atmosphere, however, and its population is only slightly over 50,000, despite substantial development over the past two decades. Average household income is approximately $94,500, and about one-third of Grapevine residents hold at least a bachelor’s degree. Average age in the city is 37.4 years.
Tourism is a primary industry, with more than 20 hotels, and three major resort complexes: Hilton Lakes, the Gaylord Texan and Great Wolf Lodge. They offer entertainment and performance space as well as lodging, dining, conference space and recreational fun, and are major attractions for both locals and travelers. Bass Pro Shops and the Grapevine Mills Mall attract shoppers from across the Metroplex. The mall has movie screens as well as an indoor ice skating rink.
Lake Grapevine, where Fourth of July fireworks explode over the water, is located on the city’s northern border and is a popular summer boating lake; it also includes a 40-acre park and ball field complex. The city celebrates its agricultural past at Nash farm, a pioneer interpretive center developed on land originally purchased by Thomas Jefferson Nash in 1859. A farmhouse built 10 years later still exists.
But it is the local wineries, seven downtown tasting rooms, craft breweries, more than 200 restaurants, a vintage railroad that runs to the Fort Worth Stockyards, and a full round of annual festivals that attract visitors to Grapevine and are the basis of its economy.
Tasting rooms dot the historic downtown area, joining small eateries and local boutiques to offer visitors a walkable way to spend an afternoon or a weekend. The community prizes its welcoming spirit and its seasonal celebrations – Grapefest is the Southwest’s largest wine festival and the city has defined itself as the Christmas Capital of Texas! Special events are planned over a 40-day period, attracting thousands of visitors. Grapevine also sponsors a Main Street Festival and SummerBlast.
The city was named for the wild mustang grapes that grew on the Texas prairie, and today its Urban Wine Trail is a popular diversion. Although it has a decidedly adult appeal, there are plenty of things for the younger crowd in Grapevine as well, including the vintage railroad that offers “Rides with Thomas,” the Grapevine Aquarium, and a Legoland Discovery Center.

Ryan, tried his best to breath life in my 17 yr old LiftMaster garage door unit but ended up having to replace the unit. He was patient with me and answered my questions. He was able to install a new LiftMaster in only an hour. Showed me how to operate and was helpful in showing me how to set up the WiFi app associated with the new unit. He was friendly, persevered through trying to fix old unit and I would recommend him if you ever need a garage door repairman.

Ryan arrived on time, was pleasant & thorough. He was completely transparent and very informative about maintenance. I asked for a service to another door that was not scheduled and he performed it right then. We are very pleased with the work done and would certainly recommend Ryan and Active to all we know.

They got here quick and were on time and I think the work was done properly oh, so that's the most important thing. I will say that $188 seems a little steep for 20 minutes of work but overall I was happy with the experience.
Great service. Friendly and knowledgeable.
